Naila Kiani, a resident of Dubai, has successfully summited the sixth-highest peak in the world, China’s Cho Oyu mountain. This is her seventh 8,000-meter peak in as few as seven months. Kiani is breaking records for Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
“I am ecstatic and honoured to have reached this goal.”
Naila expressed gratitude to her family, friends, fellow climbers, and sponsors for helping to make it happen. She obtained permits for climbing Shishapangma and Cho Oyu in China in September. Getting these permits is a difficult and highly regulated process.
Kiani, who was born in Pakistan, has set a goal for herself to climb 14 different mountains. She has been a resident in the UAE for the last eight years, and in addition to being a mother of two, she works as a banker.
After she successfully scaled the Chinese peak, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, told her:
“We are proud of you.”
The ambassador recently presented Naila kiani with an award and complimented her on her great accomplishments. Also, he declared her an inspiration to other women.
He referred to her as a model for young and ambitious Pakistani women all over the globe who have been able to efficiently pursue their passion while also successfully fulfilling their professional and family responsibilities. He said that she is a role model for these women.
The accomplishments of Naila are not only a personal victory but also a source of national and international pride for Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, where she now resides. Her climbs that broke records serve as an inspiration to women all around the globe, particularly moms and mountaineers. They show that amazing feats are within grasp if one is determined and persistent enough.
She just returned from a vacation in Kathmandu, Nepal, where she became the first Pakistani woman to reach the top of Manaslu mountain, which is 8,163 metres in elevation. She has also been victorious in her attempts to scale Nanga Parbat, K2, and Mount Everest.
