Tesla has issued two new recalls for the Cybertrucks because of the broken windshield wiper and trim in the bed that can come off while the truck is moving.
It’s clear from the returns that Tesla has made more than 11,000 Cybertrucks.
“The Cybertruck is equipped with a cosmetic applique along the exterior of the trunk bed trim, known as the sail applique, which is affixed to the vehicle with adhesive. On affected vehicles, the sail applique or adhesion may not have been installed according to specification, which may cause the sail applique to become loose or separate from the vehicle”, according to Tesla.
A few reports have come in recently of the part coming loose from the Cybertruck bed. Tesla confirms this in the recall letter they sent to NHTSA.
“At no charge to the customer, Tesla will replace or rework the sail applique such that the assembly meets specifications and ensures sufficient adhesion between the applique and the vehicle’s deck rail”, automaker says.
Because of this recall, all 11,383 Tesla Cybertruck built after May 26, 2024, are affected by this defect.
Today, Tesla announced another Cybertruck recall due to an issue with the motor that controls the windshield wipers.
“On affected vehicles, the front windshield wiper motor controller may stop functioning due to electrical overstress to the gate driver component”, according to Tesla.
This problem has been confirmed by the company for all Cybertrucks manufactured after June 6, 2024, which contains amount to 11,688 vehicles.
Recently Dubai Police also added the Tesla Cybertruck to its supercar patrol fleet.
