Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation(MoHRE) sets 30th June as the final deadline to meet Emiratisation targets for the first half of 2024. The Emiratisation targets aim for 1% growth in UAE citizens with jobs in about 50 or more companies in accordance with the Minister’s decisions of the Council.
The ministry explained in a statement that the level of compliance will be verified among the companies from the 1st of July to meet the required targets before imposing the corresponding financial contributions to non-compliant establishments.
The government also congratulates businesses for reaching the necessary growth, focusing on the importance of Emirati nationals registering for the Wage Protection System (WPS) and for pension funds. By June 30th, it urged these establishments to make sure they maintained the growth rates they had achieved.
The ministry MoHRE showed its belief in the companies ability to fulfill its commitments to rapid economic growth transforming across the UAE in all business sectors. The hiring of UAE citizens in the private sector also added significant value to the business sector.
The Ministry also urged companies that have already hit their targets to also take benefit from Nafis Programme’s digital platform that allows access to a wide range of Emirati job seekers with specializations.
Recently, around 1,300 private companies were penalized for violating Emiratisation requirements between mid-2022 and May 16, 2024. Penalized Companies faced fines ranging from Dh20,000 to Dh100,000 in each case.
