Dubai announces Worth $35 Billion World’s Largest Airport Terminal

For 10 years, Dubai International Airport has been the world’s busiest international airport, exceeding its carrying capacity.

In 2017, the transit hub had around 87 million passengers, which was more than it had before the outbreak.

When completed, Al Maktoum International Airport would rank among the world’s largest, accommodating as many as 260 million people per year.

For 2023, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will serve 105 million domestic passengers, second only to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson airport.

The number of foreign overnight visitors to Dubai reached a record 17.15 million in 2023, an increase of about 20% from the previous year.

“As we build an entire city around the airport in Dubai South, demand for housing for a million people will follow. It will host the world’s leading companies in the logistics and air transport sectors,” Sheikh Mohammed said on X.

Floating walkways, palm trees, and a big white dome connect the passenger terminal to parks at Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport, giving the airport a distinctive look. In 2016, the airport has welcomed 410,000 passengers per year since it opened to the public in 2010.

The 2009 financial crisis and COVID-19 epidemic slowed growth plans. A proposed AED 128 billion (£28 billion) mega-project will establish two airports and move all operations to Al Maktoum by 2034.
