In the next years, Dubai’s New Airport will replace Dubai International Airport as the city’s primary airport.
Dubai’s New Airport will become a desert sized super Airport becoming the world’s largest.
“Dubai has started work on a $35bn airport terminal that is set to have the world’s largest capacity upon completion,” Emirate’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said.
Al Maktoum International Airport, which began operations in 2010, will serve as Emirates’ main airline once it is finished. The airport has 400 gates and five parallel runways.
“The development would solidify Dubai’s position as a leading aviation hub,” Paul Griffiths, the CEO of Dubai Airports, said.
