Engin Altan Düzyatan became famous worldwide for his role as ‘Ertugrul Bey’ in the hugely popular TV series ‘Diriliş: Ertuğrul’ (Resurrection: Ertugrul). The series has captivated audiences universally, extending far beyond linguistic and cultural barriers. Resultantly, the immensely successful Turkish drama was broadcasted in more than 70 countries. Also, it was dubbed in various languages capturing around three billion peoples viewership for the drama series.
Engin Altan’s address will aim to explore the influence of film and drama. He will discuss how media can be effectively used as source of soft power. Therefore, This use of media is one of the major topics being discussed at this year’s Arab Media Forum.
Arab Media Forum is the largest gathering for media professionals of the region. The event is being organized from September 26-27 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Mahfoudha Saleh, A member of AMF’s Organizing Committee, emphasised the huge potential of film and drama to influence the masses. Therefore, it is especially pertinent in today’s world where media enjoys hugely expanded reach for content distribution. This is done by drawing in sizeable audiences using different methods like free access or paid subscriptions.
Lastly, Saleh conveyed his optimism that Arab productions will achieve a comparable global appeal, captivating the attention of global audiences.
