Dubai is expected to have its very own distinguishable symbol in accordance with a new regulation from effect on Monday. It is essential that this symbol be “one that mirrors its values and principles.” This emblem is the property of the Emirate of Dubai. In accordance with law number 17 of 2023 and the regulations that accompany it, it is shielded from public scrutiny.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, approved the law. His Highness is also the Ruler of Dubai.
Governmental buildings, government-related media and official websites are allowed to show the emblem. However, prior authorization from the Ruler of Dubai or his representative is necessary before any private group may utilize the emblem. It is accessible for usage by private organizations.
Inappropriate use of the emblem may result in a prison term ranging from three months to five years. Those violating the legislation run the risk of being subject to a fine that may range from AED 100,000 to 500,000.
Within the first thirty days of taking it, persons are expected to “completely discontinue” using it unless they have gotten previous authorization to continue using it. This is the case even if they have had prior authorization to continue using it. The only people who are exempt from this regulation are those who have been granted permission to use the emblem.
It is up to the Chairman of Dubai’s Ruler Court to make the necessary decisions in order to carry out the provisions of the law. It went into effect on the day that it was published in the Official Gazette.
