Abu Dhabi rolls out Autonomous Rapid Transport (ART) Buses that are eco-friendly, high-capacity tram like ART buses that runs on electricity and can transport up to 240 people.
The DMT, the ITC, and Bayanat have teamed together to launch the Smart Transportation Project to create an intelligent transportation network across the Emirate.
During the test phase, there will be 25 stations spreading out over 27 kilometers of track. The ART bus service will first operate on Abu Dhabi Island between Al Reem Mall and Marina Mall on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It will also follow the Corniche and Zayed the First Streets.

The Abu Dhabi ART bus service stops include Marina Square, The Galleria Al Maryah Island, Sheikh Hazza Bin Sultan Mosque, City Seasons Al Hamra Hotel, Lifeline Hospital, NMC Specialty Hospital, Qasr Al Hosn, Sheraton Khalidiya Hotel, Khalidiya Park, Sheikha Fatima Park, Corniche and Marina Mall.
The first trip leaves Reem Mall at 10 a.m and it gets to Rixos Marina Mall in little over an hour. There are five services every hour, with the first leaving Reem Mall and the last getting in just after 4 p.m. Every hour on the hour, these services depart and return.
The Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi developed the Darbi app so that residents and visitors to the city could find out when buses will arrive at their stops and where they were at any given moment.
