Hyundai Motor Company has introduced the first ever application of Nano Cooling Film, a significant window tint for vehicles that provides far better interior cooling performance than traditional tint films.
By using a nanostructure with exceptional heat transfer properties, Nano Cooling Film enhances heat dissipation to its maximum potential. Since the cooling effect is at its most effective at higher outside temperatures, the newly developed transparent film is likely to work better in hot and dry conditions. It achieves this by selectively emitting or blocking solar heat wavelengths using its three-layer architecture.
Lahore, Pakistan, experiences everyday summer temperatures that may reach 50°C, therefore the business launched a ‘Made Cooler By Hyundai’ promotion today to demonstrate the efficiency of the film in a real-world setting. By reducing the interior temperature by almost 10 degrees Celsius without blocking the view out the windows, Nano Cooling Film fulfils local standards.
Nano Cooling Film can also be used in combination with traditional tint films in nations that have lenient laws on vehicle window tinting. The cooling properties of Nano Cooling Film may be amplified by applying ordinary tint films on its reverse side. This will increase the film’s overall heat reflection and radiation.
To showcase its material technology advances, Hyundai Motor debuted Nano Cooling Film during the ‘Nano Tech Day’ media event in July 2023. The business revealed its intention to use its newly-developed advanced material technologies to real mobility goods at that occasion, prior to the creation of components or systems.
Part of the ‘Made Cooler By Hyundai’ promotion, Hyundai Motor applied their exclusive Nano Cooling Film to 70 customer vehicles in Lahore, Pakistan today. Since it is illegal to apply tinted film to car windows in Lahore for security concerns, Hyundai Motor decided to launch its clear film in that market.
Key Advantages
- Nano Cooling Film blocks external heat energy and emits internal radiant heat to the outside while maintaining high transparency to allow unobstructed vision
- The material significantly reduces a vehicle’s interior temperature without violating local regulations, resulting in increased comfort and reduced energy consumption
- Hyundai Motor launches campaign to install the world’s first Nano Cooling Film on more than 70 Hyundai vehicles in the test market, Lahore, Pakistan
- To expect entering mass production of the technology in the future
