China’s CATL introduced Shenxing PLUS, the World’s first LFP battery with 4C quick charging and a range beyond 1,000 kilometers with the 10-minute charge at Auto China 2024. The Shenxing PLUS battery can drive from Beijing to Nanjing without recharging, having a range of over 1,000 kilometers. This makes new energy vehicles suitable for urban and inter-provincial travel.
Eight months after launching the Shenxing superfast charging battery in August 2023, CATL has again advanced LFP battery technology, bringing in the age of superfast charging for the industry. Continuous technology advancements provide a 1,000-km pure electric range.
The granular gradation technique sets every nanoscale particle in the appropriate position for ultra-high compact density in Shenxing PLUS cathodes. The innovative 3D honeycomb-shaped anode material increases energy density and controls volume expansion during charge and discharge cycles. The industry’s first single-piece housing maximizes internal space use, allowing Shenxing PLUS cells to achieve exceptional energy density.
Shenxing PLUS battery pack’s topological structure designed on module-free CTP 3.0 technology increases packing efficiency by 7%. The Shenxing battery system’s energy density meets 205 Wh/kg for the first time, enabling ranges exceeding 1,000 kilometers thanks to material and construction advances.
Shenxing PLUS not only has a large range, but it also charges quickly. It achieves a real speedy charging speed of one kilometer per second and can give a 600-km range in just 10 minutes of charge, far outperforming the typical batteries on the market.
CATL plans to create the first Shenxing superfast charging car owners club in over 600 service outlets in 271 prefecture-level cities in 31 provincial-level regions. It will provide Shenxing car owners with roadside rescue, battery examination and maintenance, and more.
CATL’s closed-loop supercharging ecosystem integrates superfast charging battery, network, platform, and services to bring in a superfast charging era for new energy cars.
