iPhone 15 pro max phones are already up for sale online within days of the launch. On September 22, Apple released the newest generation of the iPhone. An abnormally large number of Apple lovers patiently queued for hours to get their hands on the highly desired device. However, these highly sought-after iPhones are now up for resale on classified sites. The asking prices are at least double the original prices.
There has been an unprecedented uptick in demand for the iPhone 15. A number of customers ordered more than 10 pieces of the coveted product. There were Apple devotees in Dubai who spent close to AED 300,000 on iPhone 15 products, purchased at various Apple locations.
The American technology giant has introduced three variants of iPhone 15 in the UAE, its 15, Pro and Pro Max models. The introductory prices range from AED 3399 all the way up to AED 6799.
However, many people have have put their units up for sale on the classifieds website Dubizzle. They hope to make a speedy profit. This pattern has been going on for some time with older models of iPhone as well. People never miss a chance to get hefty quick bucks by taking advantage of the very high demand for these products.
On Monday, the online classifieds marketplace saw a significant increase in sales of the high-end models iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. Some vendors have also listed mobile phones brought in from overseas for resale in local market at higher prices.
For instance, iPhone 15 Pro Max 1TB is available at Apple retail for AED 6799. However, online price for the same variant is upto AED 9980.
On the secondary market, iPhones designed specifically for UAE market bear very high resale prices. These are usually much higher than those imported from other countries like China, Japan, Hong Kong etc.
Similarly, iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB is available at Apple shops for AED 5099. Dubizzle has listings of the same model at almost 40 percent higher price. There are many vendors that have posted it, with prices ranging from Dh5,300 to Dh7,200. Comparatively, the price of a Pro Max 512GB is Dh7,000 on the classified website, but it costs Dh5,949 in the Apple shop.
While you have to dish out AED 5960 for Pro 256GB variant, originally sold for Dh4,699. It is a 27 percent increase over its original price. The Pro 512GB is also available for resale at a price of Dh6,000, as purchasers attempt to capitalise on the current lack of new devices.
