The Philippines Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported on Tuesday an earthquake with a 6.6 magnitude. It was felt in the province of Davao Occidental in the southern Philippines.
At 9:39 a.m local time, a magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck 122 kilometres deep, roughly 434 kilometres southeast of Balut Island in Sarangani town.
Local seismologists anticipate repercussions following a powerful earthquake. According to the institute, a major earthquake will cause aftershocks but will not cause any damage. There will be no tsunami danger to the Philippines, the report added.
