UAE is set to have 3 days long weekend this week. This is in connection with the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) birthday coinciding with the usual Saturday – Sunday weekend. The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), which is part of the Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipalities and Transport, announces long weekend with free parking and waived tolls.
Public transport schedules would be adjusted to accommodate the impending holiday on September 29. During the holiday, parking on surface lots will be free beginning on Friday and continuing until Saturday at 7:59 am.
During the official holiday and long weekend, motorists won’t have to worry about paying for parking at the Musaffah M-18 truck parking lot as they can enjoy free parking. In this respect, the ITC urged motorists to refrain from parking in restricted locations.
They should avoid obstructing the flow of traffic wherever possible. In addition, it asked drivers to park their vehicles appropriately in the specified locations. Authorities request avoiding parking in residential spaces between nine in the evening and eight in the morning.
The authority has announced that there will not be any charges for using the Darb toll gate system on Friday. On Saturday, toll gate rates will be back where they left off during the usual peak hours. These timings are from 7 am to 9 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm.
During the official holiday and weekend, the public bus services will continue to run according to their typical timetable.
The Information and Telecommunications Corporation (ITC) has announced the closure of Customers’ Happiness Centres located around Abu Dhabi for the course of the vacation.
Residents are able to submit applications for ITC services using the organization’s many digital platforms, including its website at www.itc.gov.ae, the TAMM platform, and the Darb and Darbi smart apps.
