The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, approved plans to make Abu Dhabi a global leader in the Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries (SAVI). The SAVI cluster may provide between 30 and 50 thousand jobs to the UAE’s labor force and generate between 90 and 120 billion UAE dirhams (AED).
His Excellency Ahmed Jasem Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, presented detailed plans for creating a vast multi-modal cluster with the aim of transforming the development of smart and autonomous vehicle across air, land, and sea in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
His Highness focused on Abu Dhabi is continuing to further consolidate its position as a leader in the area of innovative industries and cutting-edge technology. The emirate is expanding its investments in the sector in order to increase its global competitiveness while transitioning to industries that are clean and sustainable.
He further issued directives to establish strategic partnerships in order to foster Emirati talent and attract talent from around the world, capitalize on cutting-edge technological advances, foster a thriving business climate, and propel the industry’s overall development.
The opening of the SAVI cluster would cement Abu Dhabi’s position as a global leader in the development of intelligent and self-driving cars, thanks to the Emirate’s thriving aviation and aerospace industries, cutting-edge technological infrastructure, and thriving research and development environment.
