According to a US-based media site reporting the airline, a Delta Airlines Boeing 767 had to make an emergency landing back at New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport after its emergency escape slide detached during takeoff.
“After the aircraft had safely landed and proceeded to a gate, it was observed that the emergency slide had separated from the aircraft,” a Delta spokesperson said in a statement on Friday afternoon.
What caused Delta plane to make an emergency landing is something the FAA will look into.
Officially, the flight lasted around thirty-three minutes, as reported by the FAA.
Air travel has many advantages, but it is also extremely risky and has a terrifying effect on individuals because of the many terrifying events.
On the condition of protection from disclosure, a passenger on the trip informed NPR that it was impossible to hear announcements coming from the cockpit due to an incredibly loud noise coming from the aircraft.
“Delta Flight 520 from New York to Los Angeles returned safely to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York around 8:35 a.m. local time on Friday, April 26, after the crew reported a vibration,” the Federal Aviation Administration said.
People on board reported feeling “really scared” and “overwhelmed” according to interviews with NPR.
“Company is fully supporting retrieval efforts and will fully cooperate in investigations,” An airline representative for Delta stated.
