Adarsh Swaika, the Indian ambassador to Kuwait, scheduled a visit to the Al-Adan hospital, where more than 30 Indian workers are receiving treatment, after a fire broke out in Kuwait City, killing more than 40 people. More than 30 Indian workers were hurt in the fire.
Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousuf Al-Sabah verified the death toll and issued an arrest warrant for the building’s owner.
“Amb @AdarshSwaika visited the Al-Adan hospital where over 30 Indian workers injured in today’s fire incident have been admitted. He met a number of patients and assured them of full assistance from the Embassy,” the Indian embassy in Kuwait shared on X.
“Almost all are reported to be stable by hospital authorities,” they added.
The Ambassador made a visit to Farwaniya Hospital, where six employees most of whom are believed to be Indian were hospitalized after suffering injuries in the fire. The hospital administration has announced that four of the six patients have been discharged, one has transferred to Jahra Hospital, and the sixth is currently stable in the ward.
The Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital, where eleven wounded workers were allegedly hospitalized, was also visited by Envoy Swaik.
The Indian embassy has also set up an emergency helpline and advised concerned parties to call for updates.
