UAE: 2 children caught in fire breakout in Fujairah

Two children in Fujairah, an eight-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy were killed in a house fire while a 5-year-old child survived.

The Civil Defence Operating Room got a complaint of a fire in an Al Tuwiyain residence at around 2 am on June 25. Civil Defence teams arrived at the home quickly and started putting out the fire. They immediately secured the house, treated the injured, and took them to Dibba Hospital.

Authorities have started investigations but the fire’s cause is still unknown. Fujairah Civil Defence Department Director Brigadier Ali Obaid Al Tunaiji requested the public to follow authorities warnings as the summer season begins.

Higher electrical loads from air conditioning and refrigeration devices can be dangerous. He advises residents to maintain safety and check if all the electrical cables are well-maintained.

Fujairah Police Commander in Chief Major General Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanem Al Kaabi offered his condolences on the deaths of the two children and hoped for the quick recovery of the injured ones.
