With time running out to enroll in the job loss insurance for employees, e& is giving UAE employees 2nd option to do registeration via the etisalat by e& service. The Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) Scheme has now opened a second enrollment channel this month.
Workers in the commercial and public sectors were first required to contribute to the cost of unemployment insurance on January 1, 2023. Employees have the months of January through June to sign up. However, the new deadline for enrolling in the plan is October 1, 2023; failing to do so will cost employees Dh400.
How to register via SMS for Unemployment Insurance?
Employers in the UAE may sign their employees up for the initiative by having them send an SMS to the number 2120. They must first enter ID, then a space, and then the Emirates ID number.
According to Dana Kansou, Manager of Distribution and Strategic Partnerships at Dubai Insurance, which administers the ILOE Insurance pool, the deadline for registering for the scheme is October 1, 2023. In accordance with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation’s (MoHRE) announcement, this is necessary in order to prevent penalties.
Employees now have access to a variety of enrollment options, including the Al Ansari Exchange branches and app, kiosks for MBME and UPAY, business centres (Tawjeeh and Tasheel), and the ILOE website and app.
Since the service’s inception on January 1, 2023, over 5 million individuals have signed up for it. In order to register with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, businesses with more than 15 employees can email at companyreg@iloe.ae.
Astra Tech, a consumer technology holding company, and the ILOE insurance pool, which is represented by Dubai Insurance Company, established a strategic alliance earlier this month. Because of this deal, Astra Tech may now provide ILOE insurance via the Botim app.
Workers with annual salaries of Dh16,000 or less may subscribe for Dh5 per month including VAT. You may choose to make payments on a monthly, quarterly, annual, or biannual basis. All employees with a monthly income of Dh16,000 or more are required to contribute Dh10 each month. There are five different payment options available for them to choose from. Individual employees also have the opportunity to obtain supplemental health insurance.
How to Claim Job Loss Insurance ?
An employee who leaves their job may file a claim for up to three months of pay, commencing on the date of termination. This payment is equivalent to 60% of the employee’s median earnings in the six months prior to their layoff.
The subscribers must have been active members of the plan for a period of at least a year in order to claim for compensation. Furthermore, they must have made a compensation claim within 30 days after losing their work, provided that their termination was not due to misconduct, they did not voluntarily leave, and their application was not false.
