On Sunday, June 16, UAE officials prayed the Eid Al Adha prayers, joining Muslims around the nation in celebrating this significant day.
The most sacred of the two Eids observed by Muslims worldwide is Eid Al Adha, also known as the Day of Sacrifice. Slaying goats, cows, sheep, or camels is part of the day’s traditions, along with giving special prayers.
President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed welcomed officials and residents.
“I wish my brothers, the Rulers of the Emirates, citizens and residents of the UAE, and Muslims around the world a blessed Eid Al Adha. May God grant peace to all and bring us together in the spirit of harmony and unity,” Sheikh Mohamed said.
At the Grand Eid Mussallah in Dubai, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler H.H Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum prayed. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Minister of Defence, prayed with Sheikh Maktoum and other sheikhs and leaders.
Sheikh Hamdan also greeted UAE residents Eid on social media.

At the Sultan bin Zayed I Mosque in Al Bateen, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan prayed. Lt. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and UAE Armed Forces Chief of Staff Sheikh Surour were also in the mosque for Eid prayers.
At Ajman’s Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Mosque, the Ruler of Ajman and Supreme Council Member Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi led the Eid Al-Adha prayer.
During the Eid Al-Adha weekends, Free Parking was announced by UAE.
