SalamAir suspends operations to India as travel plans of hundreds of passengers were thrown into the wind. The commuters got an email informing them that their tickets on SalamAir from October 1, 2023 onwards stand cancelled. The email stated that the cancellation of these bookings will take effect immediately. However, the company assured that the money will be refunded to them for their existing reservations.
SalamAir is a budget airline based in the Sultanate of Oman which presently operates flights to four major cities in India.
Thousands of expats in Oman had access to advantageous and cost-effective travel options thanks to the carrier. The possibilities ranged from Jaipur and Lucknow in northern India to Calicut and Thiruvananthapuram in southern India.
Travel agents have also confirmed that they have received notification from the airline on the suspension of all operations to India. No further comments on the matter have been made by any official of the Airlines so far.
